I studied for years under Irene Maddox who was a prominent flute player and teacher in Charlotte, NC until she passed away in 1995. She was the principal flutist with the Charlotte Symphony for many years and co-founder of the Charlotte Flute Choir. She also played with the Charlotte Opera and Pops.
